On the way back, we were too tired to drive the entire distance, as we had left Pisa at 1:30 p.m. which would mean we wouldn't return to Ceske Budejovice until 1:30 a.m. We followed our noses around the city, enquiring about a place to stay. After several places, we finally found what we were looking for in the old part of the city....the Golden Adler Hotel! Notice who has stayed here in past years (from Goethe to Mozart and beyond!). Wow.
Of course, the views of the Alps from all around the city are spectacular! Note the aqua-colored river, fed by the glaciers...
Other views around the old city....shops, drinking fountains for the horses, the old tower....
The rose-colored church in the main square:
The cathedral:
And then, as we rounded the bend from the Old Square, in this little alcove above us were musicians playing Mozart! Serenading us that Sunday morning in view of the Alps....a moment never to forget!
